In safe hands

In addition to the concept and planning phases, the project realisation stage is also of great importance. The objective of this phase is to implement the planned project in compliance with the agreed-upon schedule, quality and budget. Shortcomings and deviations in these areas usually result in severe contractual penalties, major customer complaints and additional costs due to duplicate charges in order to maintain ongoing operations. In many cases, this can lead to losses in sales, and may even threaten the existence of the company. But in times of increasingly short project cycles, projects can only be realised through efficient cost and time management in the required quality.

We offer our customers both specialist and methodical expertise obtained from the many projects we have already completed. Our experienced consultants have been working successfully in the areas of project management, realisation monitoring and interface management for over 30 years.

Project management – Reliability in every phase

METROPLAN LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT provides the project management for the various phases of a project. Depending on the project content, the corresponding phase model includes, for example, the conception, detailed planning and realisation, or an analysis of the actual situation, the target concept and implementation.

Our consultants use their specialist, social and methodical expertise to provide the required project management for the following areas:
  • Realisation of logistics centres
  • Implementation of streamlined, standardised or new processes as part of a business process engineering (BPR) project in the company
  • Insourcing and outsourcing of logistics
  • Implementation of vertical and horizontal logistics cooperations

We support our customers in developing, structuring and implementing the project organisation. Specifically, that means: Efficient project controlling, including the definition and monitoring of milestones in line with the quality and cost objectives. For this purpose, we use customary market tools and offer systematic documentation with the corresponding reporting, as well as management of the project members and subproject teams.

Realisation monitoring – Systematic control of tasks

Monitoring and supervision during the realisation phases place special requirements on project management, since here, the planning is put to the test of reality. Amongst other things, this relates to the establishment, layout, expansion or modernisation of logistics centres, where special demands are placed on the coordination of all tasks within the scope of interface management as well as on the test and commissioning procedures. The processes and supporting IT systems are the heart of a warehouse. They ensure flexibility in the face of fluctuating requirements.
We support our customers with technical, social and methodical expertise, in order to bring the realisation to a successful conclusion.

Interface management – The objective: Avoid conflicts early on

The realisation of new warehouse and commissioning systems is generally carried out by investors, construction companies and suppliers of warehouse and materials handling systems. In addition to the time and cost pressure, the large number of contact partners and the major effort and resources needed to coordinate the builders, investors and project planners give rise to great potential for conflict.

The key to success in this respect is dedicated and prompt interface management between all the partners involved in the construction. We support our customers by providing dedicated, prompt and expert interface management and by coordinating the interfaces between the logistics, warehouse and materials handling systems, the construction and the investor.

Our interface management aims at the following objectives:

  • Creation of transparency
  • Reconciliation of different interests
  • Adherence to budgets, schedules and quality standards
