We are often asked for our opinion on issues, for example: How are the areas of purchasing and procurement positioned in comparison to other departments in the same sector and on a cross-sector basis? Performance capability cannot, however, be determined according to generally applicable performance indicators. Our experience shows that it is essential to compare all aspects (purchasing organisation, purchasing processes, supplier management, sourcing, logistics, purchasing controlling, product innovation and use of the IT standards) with the specific best-practice solutions.
